Services
NEA Divine recognizes individuals with persistent mental illness, chronic substance abuse, and intellectual disabilities. Divine is aware that substance abuse disorders are multidimensional and therefore focus on the biopsychosocial model to incorporate skills and supports that are strained due to the individual’s inability to function effectively within their natural environment. Today we know that addiction is a chronic health condition that is preventable and can be treated.
Accordingly, we recognize the need for a for a peer-run addiction recovery support center, creating a safe environment for initiating and sustaining long term recovery needs, removal of barriers and encouragement of personal independence. Peer support occurs when people with lived experience provide knowledge and emotional, social or practical help with each other stimulating hope and advancing recovery. The following supports will be included, but not limited to, the eight dimensions of wellness, which are, emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social and spiritual needs while allowing the peer to form healthy habits leading towards a positive impact.
These services enhance and promote self-directed care by identifying strengths, self-determination, self-advocacy, and wellbeing. Activities and skill selections are motivating tools used to increase independence and provide support of a person’s ability to promote their own recovery, focusing on whole health and harm reduction. Every peer will be met exactly where they are in their recovery and treated with respect and dignity.
